July 17: Muharram and Ashadi Ekadashi

This day is observed as the Dry day.

Ashadi Ekadashi, also known as Shayani Ekadashi is the eleventh lunar day of the bright fortnight falling on Ashadha, the Hindu month. This occasion is holy to Vaishnavas, the followers of the Hindu preserver deity, as it is believed that on this day, the deity’s sleep commences.

July 21: Guru Purnima

It is the day to honour all the teachers or gurus in our lives. In the Hindu calendar , it falls on the full moon day in the month of Ashada. According to mythology, Guru Purnima can be traced back to the birth of the sage Ved Vyasa, who is said to be the author of Mahabharata and the Puranas. The availability of alcohol on hotels, bars, pubs and stores will be restricted.
